Aging with Disabilities
In 2007-08, CCDS conducted a participatory action research project on Aging with a Disability, funded by ODI. The purpose of the project was to identify the needs, gaps and effective service models for individuals with long-term disabilities who are aging, specifically as it related to the areas of home supports, caregiving, transportation and housing. Visitability
In 2006-07, CCDS conducted a major visitable housing project. The purpose and long-term outcome of this project was to determine the impact of Visitability on communities. This project is a major step forward in creating inclusive and livable communities.
The project focused on Canada to discover where Visitability initiatives are taking place and what factors are facilitating its growth or are creating barriers to implementation. To visit the project website, please click on the following website: Visitability Canada
Inclusive Education
CCDS is currently involved in a five-year project called Inclusive Education for Children with Disabilities in Ukraine. Funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), this project is the result of the hard work and commitment to inclusion and the rights of people and children with disabilities of many partners in Canada and Ukraine.
